Daniele Mencarelli
Daniele Mencarelli was born in Rome in 1974. He is a poet and a writer. His latest poetry collection is Degli amanti non degli eroi, published by Mondadori in 2024. His first novel is La casa degli sguardi (Mondadori, 2018), from which the 2025 homonymous film, directed by Luca Zingaretti, is based. In 2020 he published Tutto chiede salvezza (Mondadori), finalist for the Premio Strega and winner of the Premio Strega Giovani, that was adapted into a Netflix series of the same name (released in 2022). Among his works there are the three novels published by Mondadori Sempre tornare (2021), Fame d’aria (2023), Brucia l’origine (2024), and his first play staged Agnello di Dio. In 2025 Adelmo che voleva essere Settimo (Mondadori) was released, his first book for young readers. He writes about culture and society for newspapers and magazines.
